The average pay for GPs working in the Avenues Medical Practice in the last financial year was £71,550 before tax and national insurance. This is for 1 full-time GP and 3 part-time GPs who worked in the practice for more than 6 months.
Care Quality Commissioning Inspection
Since the last report we have recently been re-evaluated by the CQC and our results have been upgraded to "GOOD" overall. Please follow the link below to view our updated report.
During a routine inspection of our Practice on 20th October 2015 the CQC found that we did not meet in full all of the criteria required, resulting in the practice being catergorised as 'requires improvement'. The report was published on 7th January 2016.
We were graded on 5 different service areas these results were as follows:
Safe?: Requires improvement.
Well Led?: Requires improvement.
Our patient groups were graded as;
Older people: Good.
People with long term conditions: Good.
Families, children and Young: Good.
Working age people (including Students and recently retired): Good.
People whose circumstances may make them vulnerable: Good.
People experiencing poor mental health (including dementia): Good.
We can confirm that the CQC has no immediate concerns with regard to patient safety at the practice and patients should visit us and attend appointments as normal.
We are working with our partner NHS organisations to ensure that we are fully compliant and we expect to have met the CQC's recommendations by August 2016. A further notice will be posted in the website and in the Practice when this process has been completed.
We are committed to providing GP services which are of the highest possible standard for patients. If you have any concerns or questions please contact the Surgery on 343614.
You can view the full report at www.cqc.org.uk, and search for The Avenues Medical Centre Hull.

PATIENT PARTICIPATION GROUP
We are actively recruiting for new members of the Patient Participation Group, within the specific age groups of 18-35 and 35-50. We are specifically recruiting within these age groups to ensure the patient group is representative of the entire Practice population. If you are within these age groups and are interested in joining or would like further information, please contact Caroline Whitaker Practice Manager.
Our appointment booking system has changed recently. Each Doctor has 50% pre-bookable (ROUTINE anytime for anything) appointments each day and 50% urgent (book on the day) appointments. The book on the day appointments are not available until 8am on that day, and Receptionists are physically unable to book these before then. These are on a first come first served basis, so ringing as early as you can is important. If you require an appointment on the same day you can not choose which Doctor you see.
OUT OF HOURS MEDICAL SERVICES
Please note that Urgent/Emergency medical services are available when the practice is closed, these services should be used responsibly and restricted to problems that cannot wait until the surgery re-opens . Although the practice is not open to patients on a Wednesday afternoon we do have a GP on call who is available should such a problem occur. Please ring the surgery number if required. For urgent medical attention when the surgery is closed please call 111. This is instead of an out of hours number.
